In this post, we would like to share the updates of air layering for Syngonium Albo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cutting Air layering<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We got enough roots to propagate in 5days since we started air layering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We cut each of air layering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now we have 4 another seedlings from one seedling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each seedling will have new babies. That’s how we can create more pots from one pot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tips for cutting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We cut each air layering at closet point of node where aerial roots came.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don’t need vine between node and node as they could be rotten in the soil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can see that new roots grew up from aerial roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since aerial roots is not designed for soil, we need roots which is easily adopt to soil before we propagate them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We personally remove moss around roots roughly before potting as moss contain a lot of water, and it could be a cause of root rot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it’s fine to not completely remove them otherwise you will damage roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soil<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Regarding to soil, we usually mix normal potting mix, coco coir and perlite by ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also consider to mix moss if your pot dries really quick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Syngonium loves coco coir and moss fyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don’t have specific ratio, but we change the ratio depends on material of pot, and where to place the pot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
